In mid-June, all our project partners gathered for the monitoring visit.
With great pleasure were our guests the Monitor for Life Nature projects in Italy, Sara Luchetti and Angelo Salsi, head of the LIFE Environment (Nature & Circular Economy) Unit of the CINEA Agency of the European Union.
The first part of the visit took place at the headquarters of the Gargano National Park, leader of the DIOMEDEE project, where updates were provided on the technical and administrative progress of the project; the field visit of the project activities instead concentrated on the Tremiti Islands, where the most consistent actions are underway. Here the group spent intense days, with meetings with the local population, visits to shearwaters’ nests, and controls of the dispensers for the eradication of the black rat.
These have been very important days for all of us who are involved in the project. Days in which to collect results and comments on the work carried out in recent months and on all the actions still to be completed, for the protection of our ecosystems and the most endangered species.
These days have added further charge and motivation to the working group: the project is in its intermediate phase and the next few months will be decisive for achieving a good result!
