The Department of Biology of the University of Bari has carried out several conservation projects in the fields of Zoology, Ecology, Comparative Anatomy, Anthropology and Genetics. Particular attention is dedicated to environmental protection especially in Natura 2000 sites and to the species included in the European Directives 43/92 and 79/409. He is currently a partner of “LIFE16 ENV / IT / 000343”.

The Department of Biology will be responsible for the action on Callinectes and the action on scientific monitoring.
