The Regional Natural Park ‘Coastal Dunes from Torre Canne to Torre San Leonardo’ is a protected natural area that covers about 1,100 hectares of the landscape of the Plain of monumental olive groves of Puglia extending along the 8 km of coast of the inlet defined by the promontories of Torre Canne and Torre San Leonardo and bounded by the continuous dune cord that separates the beach from the humid areas behind the dunes, and then proceeds towards the internal agricultural areas occupied by centuries-old olive groves along the course of the “lame”, erosive channels that plow the plain from the plateau of the Murgia to the sea.
